Today, the 31th of January, I did go with Sister Rudo to the Crèche that the convent is running. The crèche is about 20min away by car. There are 3 different classes divided by their age. The children in the oldest group are around 5 or 6 years old and start school at the beginning of next school year. Totally there are about 45 children at the moment because the year has just started but the number rises with every day.
The children were all so happy and excited to see me that they almost broke my glasses. They were telling me so many things but since it was mostly in Zulu I couldn’t understand them. In their classes they teach them a little bit of English so a few of them were able to answer me in English.
At lunch time all the children sat in one line on little chairs and ate the food they got. After finishing their food they all went to lay down on blankets to have a little nap.
